Occupational safety

Occupational safety and well-being is everyone´s right

Occupational safety and health co-operation is a part of every Finnish workplace. Employers and employees must together maintain and improve occupational health, well-being and safety.
As part of OSH co-operation, the employees elect an OSH representative and two deputy representatives from among their numbers. The representatives are elected for two or four years at a time.

In OSH co-operation, the employer is represented by the occupational safety and health officer.

Employees have obligations

Employees must comply with the rules and guidelines given by the employer, and they must also promote safety at work. Employees are additionally obligated to report problems and deficiencies that threaten health and safety at work.
