OAJ’s Executive Board discussed the conciliation proposal submitted by the National Conciliator and unanimously decided to reject the second conciliation proposal concerning the dispute on the collective agreement for universities of applied sciences. The proposal was based entirely on the employer’s objectives, and the salary solution would have been particularly harmful to the teaching staff.

National Conciliator Anu Sajavaara has submitted a settlement proposal late Sunday evening for the labour dispute concerning the collective agreement at universities of applied sciences. The parties to the agreement, FEE, OAJ and YTN will each submit their own responses by Tuesday.

OAJ issued a strike warning to all universities of applied sciences on 28 May.

OAJ’s council elections took place on 17–30 March 2026. A total of 376 candidates ran, of which 150 we elected. In addition, the Teacher Student Union of Finland SOOL will elect three members to the council from among its members. 36,8 percent of our members exercised their right to vote.
