OAJ issued a strike warning to all universities of applied sciences on 28 May.

OAJ’s Executive Board has today accepted the settlement proposal for a new collective agreement for universities of applied sciences. However, the employer side rejected the proposal.

National Conciliator Anu Sajavaara has today submitted a settlement proposal for the labour dispute concerning the collective agreement at universities of applied sciences.

Late in the evening today, on 13 April, the Labour Court issued its ruling on FEE’s action. The action brought by Finnish Education Employers (FEE), which represents the employer in the collective agreement for universities of applied sciences, concerned the legality of the first three notices of strike issued by OAJ in March.

OAJ’s council elections took place on 17–30 March 2026. A total of 376 candidates ran, of which 150 we elected. In addition, the Teacher Student Union of Finland SOOL will elect three members to the council from among its members. 36,8 percent of our members exercised their right to vote.
