The union representative is the trusted contact person for your workplace

The union representative represents OAJ and its employee members at the workplaces. As an OAJ member, you will receive help from your workplace's union representative, who monitors the interests of the employees they represent and the compliance with collective agreements and laws at the workplaces.

As an OAJ member, you will have the help and advice of the union representative with questions concerning your work or the terms of your employment relationship.

The union representative is usually the first link between you and the union. Problems are often resolved locally with the union representative.

The union representative advises members on the following matters, among others:

  • working time
  • salaries
  • leave of absence
  • fixed-term employment
  • warnings, terminations of employment and temporary layoffs.

The union representative represents both JUKO and OAJ and also employees belonging to OAJ at the workplaces of the municipality and joint municipal authorities as well as at universities.

At private workplaces, the union representative represents OAJ and its employees.
